Dale,

I have read your entire post, and agree with it. As a matter of fact, in an earlier post, I said I have no dog in this fight anyway, and kind of tossed about the idea that maybe Dion's story is some sort of survivor's guilt thing on a unconcious (sp?) level. Like maybe by saying that he should have been on the flight but declined is/was some sort of way of justifying it to himself why he did survive while his tour-mates didn't. But, that's not saying I'm justifying his story, or believe it-Just playful speculation as to why he might be telling it.

And for the record, I do *not* agree with Dion's recollection of the events: There have been many good arguments/points made thru the years to point out he's re-writing history for whatever reason. This thread alone has many good reasons why his story really doesn't add up, your post included.

I just felt it was a pretty low blow to make a character assassination on Dion when there's so many other good reasons why his story doesn't add up-His drug abuse didn't need to be brought up. Say he's lying, I have no issue with that, say you don't like him, again, no issue with that, but bringing up character flaws because you don't like what someone is saying is just a cheap shot.
