Here's a review I saw online:
----------------------------

Due to the good ratings, I was excited to learn more about Buddy Holly. However, the book read like an encyclopedia of all things Holly adjacent in paragraph form. We get mini biographies of everyone that has worked with him and half (for real, half) of the book is dedicated to basically listing all covers and bands that he influenced as well as what the other Crickets went on to do in their much longer lives. I understand that he wasn't with us for very long, but we hardly get anything as to the experience of Buddy's lifetime. There is an actual listing of his discography, covers of his work and the Crickets post-Buddy discography which is appreciated. I just wish it was more about the experience of his life and not so much lists with the author's opinion as to whether it was necessary for Buddy's niece to record an album of his music.
