 The movie begins with Buddy as a teenager and takes him through his career right up to the fatal crash.

Filming has not started yet. I'm not even sure if Bruce Beresford is still the director. I remember reading somewhere the producers wanted to go with someone younger.

I think the production is in limbo. It may end up like the planned Big Bopper film from a few years ago, or the "Buddy Holly Is Alive And Well On Ganymede" movie. I recall the Ganymede movie even had a trailer (!) but that's as far as it got before the project evaporated.

It's just as well, because I doubt anyone here would have been happy with this Clear Lake biopic.

I'm more curious about the Winter Dance Party documentary. Will it ever be available?
