Lady Antebellum named themselves in honor of a time in U.S. history when human beings were owned, worked to death, and separated from their families.
When some descendants of those slaves expressed their opinions about that name, the band shortened it to Lady A. But the name "Lady A" had already been used for 20 years by an African American blues and gospel singer. When this singer objected, they took her to court.
Maybe it's an empty gesture to youo. There's been other incidents since the George Floyd murder, most recently in Buffalo, NY.
Former plantations in the south have been used for wedding receptions. I can't imagine any such thing being permitted in Auschwitz.
You're right though about the world being over-touchy. Some people are offended by the sight of their favorite sports teams showing sympathy for murder victims.
