Anything I've seen online (which granted isn't much, as I haven't dug too deep) show his real name as Harry Camilus Bagby, with a birthdate of August 1, 1917. But, your source and my source both agree on the date of death of September 3, 1970.

Seems like the older the performer, the more things get mixed up as ages, DOB, etc...
