Dale,
This may be my last post on this subject as I think we have covered just about everything

What I would say to summarise is that I don't think we in disagreement at all, we largely DO agree but
just probably have different preferences / views on how we like to listen to our music

I would add that Giles Martin has had the total agreement of the surviving Beatles, Paul especially, and the estates
of John & George for all the recent reissues etc and all are very positive about what he has done

I have heard from a couple of friends who already have the new Revolver and both say it is amazing, a vast improvement.

A final question:-
How do Buddy's fans prefer to listen to, say, It Doesn't Matter Anymore ?

- original 78 release (I have this on 78)
- original 45 release
- first LP release (The Buddy Holly Story - 1959)
- first stereo release (Legend LP - 1974)
- cassette tape album
- first CD issue - mid 80s
- From the Original Master tapes CD

Which is the most 'authentic' as clearly this track was originally mixed and mastered for mono release on either 78 or 45

It was a good discussion

Regards
Frank
.
