There is a story behind this instrumental:

I wrote it for my Aunt Jeannie, who was like a sister as she grew up with me and my brother, Jim in my parent's home. (There had been some very serious problems in the relationship between her mom and dad because of acute alcoholism.)

A few months before Christmas of 1999, Jeanne was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was told that she didn't have long to live. So, I decided to write and record "Christmas with Jeannie," and I told her in advance about it. She was very excited.

I worked on the instrumental as fast as I could, but believed I had sufficient time in recording it at the Steve Hudgin's studio in Albuquerque.

But my time had run out unexpectedly. Sadly, she passed in early December 1999 at the age of 61.
