The only good AI treatment of Buddy Holly's voice I've heard is the Rollercoaster Records experiment by Chris Hopkins.

My opinion: This technology could be very useful in a future movie biography of Holly. Rather than an actor (ten years older and looking nothing like Buddy) doing a semi-passable vocal imitation, AI could enhance the performance. It could even make the actor look exactly like Holly.

If such a project ever happened, Chris Hopkins would be the logical choice to produce and mix the soundtrack, blending new performances with Holly's recordings.

I had hoped the success of the recent ELVIS movie might inspire producers to get serious about the Buddy movie. But it doesn't look like anything's happening. Maybe it's for the best. When I saw who was involved in this production I knew it'd be a fictional treatment anyway.

Since there are so many unanswered questions here about Buddy's death, about his marriage, about his behavior, etc. I believe a traditional biopic is impossible. It would have to be something like Rashomon, with contradictory versions of the same incident dramatized.
