I consider myself a Holly collector, but I'm also a realist. From the age of 11 in 1981 when I got the Complete Buddy Holly box set, I consigned myself only to keeping on top of new tracks as they emerged.

Of course, sometimes you have to buy a whole CD or even a new box set to keep up. And then you might want all the "sounds better" Rollercoaster releases, obviously.

Even so, I reckon you can probably have "everything" these days on 20 well-chosen official CDs -- if you aren't bothered about stuff where BH simply played guitar as little more than a session musician.

I still keep all the vinyl releases I've acquired over the past 40+ years, but I don't go out of my way to find them, and especially not original issues from the 50s and 60s.
