 To answer the question:

Most likely the touring troupe used the 'house' P.A systems for vocals and announcements. No doubt they would have been fairly rudimentary, with a speaker either side of the stage, and a fairly basic valve (tube) console which the mics were plugged into. Certainly none of the amps or the drums would have been miced up like they would be today. No fold backs or in ear monitoring back then either.

Amplification were Fender Bassman amps (4x10 speaker) tweed combos. Both Buddy and Tommy were given their amps by Fender a few months before. Buddy probably bought one at Manny's for Waylon to use before the tour. I'm not sure what amp Ritchie or Dion used, but most likely they used Buddy's amp when he wasn't playing.

Basically, it was like a pub gig - crank it up and go for it!
