 exactly. the most damaging thing to the legacy of Buddy Holly was that most people first learn of Buddy through the movie and believe most of it as truth. I'll believe Peggy Sue when it comes to the vibe that was happening at the time.

Movie fiction followed by misinformation in books and you've got a largely skewed fan base.
