A quick note regarding Tom Reed's research and the "new" Buddy Holly Day By Day series...I have had the sincere privilege to see some of Tom’s latest work, and it is something wonderful.
In the event that you don’t know Tom,he was a trusted friend and research partner of the late, great Bill Griggs. Tom has spent YEARS researching the lives and activities of Buddy Holly & The Crickets and was a critical part of the original release of Buddy Holly Day By Day booklets.
Now, long after the original release of the booklets and the passing of Bill Griggs, Tom Reed has renewed his research in an effort to update the books, and he has hit the jackpot with new findings. The best part of this re-release is that it will be offered to the public at NO CHARGE!! As Tom’s research and pursuit of new information is ongoing, the plan at this time is for Buddy Holly Day By Day v2.0 to be released in the Fall of 2026.
I can provide a bit of a teaser now…
A couple of years ago, a dear friend of mine presented me with the unique opportunity to acquire a personal diary that once belonged to the late, great Echo McGuire, Buddy Holly’s girlfriend, when they attended Lubbock High School. I jumped at the chance, in part because Echo was a personal friend of mine and I adored her. I am grateful to my friend for allowing me to become the owner/trustee of that diary. I will honor Echo by sharing over 70 entries from Echo’s diary in Buddy Holly Day By Day v2.0, inturn providing great insight into the lives and the relationship between two of West Texas’ best-known 1950’s teenagers. This information will be exclusively in Buddy Holly’s Day By Day v2.0.
I think fans will be thrilled and Bill Griggs would be proud of Tom Reed and the revised Buddy Holly Day By Day!!
