 we never got the news until the 4th Feb owing to being 6 hours ahead of Clear Lake. I was a 14 year old paper boy at the time and the first paper I delivered was the Daily Mirror with a picture of the Bopper with his arms outstretched and just a small picture of Buddy's head announcing the death of the three artists in a plane crash, there was no picture of Richie. I have got that picture in a book hat came with a set of CD's. I had only seen Buddy on "Sunday Night at the London Palladium on television in 1958.
