This is fairly old but I will answer this anyway.

You are fairly limted in GRIP when it comes to the menu widget options. You cannot do what you are asking using GRIP. You could however use UI Styler and create some fairly detailed UI Widgets. Although, these widgets can only be accessed using Open/API and not via GRIP directly.

You could however, tie a GRIP program to the API function if you do not want to recreate all of your functionality in API. I have done this to preserve the GRIP program as the core functionality but to enable UI dialogs, a nicer GUI, for my programs.
