Dear ladies ,
For a while I have read with interest your many posts on the subject of the enema . First of all , let me say that yes ... I am a man and forgive me for posting here but there is something that I have for a long time wanted to share with all you mothers and caregivers .
I grew up in the decade of the 1950's - early 60's as a ' baby boomer ' and during the above timeline the enema was a staple of chidhood illness recovery or ' as required ' in our home and many other homes in our community . I was a middle child with an older and younger sister respectively .
My Mother , who passed away a number of years ago , was a very lovely , caring and compassionate person .
As a small child , when she gave me an enema , I protested strongly against what I considered to be a ' shameless invasion of privacy ' but as time progressed , I began to understand that she indeed had my health and best interest in keeping me healthy at the core of her enema administrations . She was a very caring and nurturing home nurse Mom when she decided the enema was needed . Her demeanor was such that , in time , you wanted to work with her and not against her to make her / your enema a success .
My sisters are in agreement as per above in conversations we have had concerning this subject with respect to our dear Mom . They had a much longer enema history with Mom given their college days and early motherhood needs for which , according to them , Mom was there to assist as required whether home on the weekend from college or at home with a new baby . Mom was always there for my sisters , with respect to their enema needs , even as young adults even though I myself phased out of Mom administrated enemas during my early adolescent years .
To be sure there were many other instances of my Mom's kindness and love to me and her family which were not enema related but in this most personal care activity , I count myself to be very fortunate to have had for the most part the very positive enema experiences as I have shared with you and again ........... please forgive me for posting on your site given my gender but the above is in fact not only a tribute to my Mom as per this site forum subject but in that context it is meant to be an encouragement , and in a small way to say ' thank you ' , to all you dear ladies who still incorporate what your own mothers taught you with respect to personal health care for yourselves and your families via the enema .
Best regards !!!!
