i find it amusing that you avoid using the word "hell" by cutely substituting in hockeysticks and refer to the conversationalists as "dorkfaces" but then lack all creativity when it comes to "a fucking year". I have faith you could have thought of some adjective more pointed but less abrasive than this. come on, you're better than that.

but you point ramains a valid one - although somewhat redundant and counterproductive (you know, the whole starting of a new string about the aforementioned honor recital) - you're protesting the protesters.
