we are also aware of this scam we were contacted awhile ago about our truck it took us over a month anyway to get the check. a peter smith is the alias who's calling us. we are selling our truck for 3200.00 so he sends us a check for 5700.00 we are to western union a check for 2500.00 to a west african shipping co. william t andrew -6 culbert lodge new bashford nottingham UK Ng7 7DW. we get the check on a monday he is calling us again by relay on tues to see if we cashed the check, have the money to send, i say no its going to take 9 days before the bank clears it. he says well why didn't you take it to the post office! the post office? cash a 5700.00 check? i could tell he wasn't to bright he was fairly impatient & the relay operator had to wait awhile before he'd say just a few words. it sounded very funny! well one day while i receive a relay call for a lois! i was then aware he is doing this to others.. i thought about it another day he's calling for a don summers so i played w/ it he asked me by now you've recvd the cashiers check & once again i said the bank said it'll take 9 days before the check clears then i would send the money. this person has my email he doesn't prefer to communicate by email i suppose in fear of being traced? since then he has become very harrassing already today he has called 3 times! i've had the relay block him from calling!
