Hi,

this is my story, maybe it will help you as i have been through it and am going through it still.

I was put on steroids for ten years for a chronic illness. I got all the terrible side effects.

Thankfully I was able to get off them when I had an operation.

The after effects were very bad though. Basically your body struggles to produce its own cortisone.

I use to have adrenal insufficiency all the time. I would feel faint and feel as if I wanted to throw up. Then I would start twitching. I would also get agressive mood swings like I had on the steroids. My joints were very sore.

The thing that saved me was a good naturopath. She started me taking massive doses of magnesium as well as a protein and vitamin and mineral supplement called Rejuvenex which has calcium in it. I also started to take fish oils which fixed the sore joints so that they are much better now.

That is what helped me through it but it took three years to get to the point where I no longer have these problems all the time. Unfortunately I now only have them when my period is due. My cortisone levels seem to go nuts when it is that time of the month.

I have been doing my own research to try to fix the problem.

Good luck,

start taking major supplements as it will give your body what it needs to deal with the adrenal insufficiency,

If you want to talk more about this then please email me at paperworkfairy@gmail.com

I am totally against steroids. They should not be prescribed ever.
