Sue,

I definitely can understand what you are going through. One thing I would suggest is to have your doc run a few blood tests...he should check your thyroid, cortisol level (AM is best), a complete blood count, and metabolic panel just to make sure that what your feeling is "JUST" leftover withdrawal symptoms.

I also think that speaking to a therapist who works with chronically ill patients can be VERY helpful! Dealing overwhelming emotions, fatigue are definite side effects from steroids. It can take up to a year to leave your system...so as you wait it is torture! A therapist can help put all of into perspective and teach you some ways to handle it all.

I really do understand how crazy teaching can be while so sick and tired!! I have much respect for you handling your teaching responsabilities while going through this. I know you are frustrated...please give it some time, and get some help...you will make it through :)

Also, if you decide to go with the antidepressent, there are some that also help with chronic pain and other ailments that have NOTHING to do with depression...something to look into.

Good luck with everything! Big hugs/well wishes for you!!

Ivy
