Subject: Nasonex

I was prescribed Nasonex in April for seasonal allergies. I only developed allergies as an adult so I never took nasal sprays before. (2 sprays per each nostril, 4-5 days per week.) I have mild hypothyroidism but I was controlling it well with diet and exercise.
No more after starting Nasonex!
I gained 10 lbs but it looked more like 20!
I had a huge stomach and couldnt fit my clothes anymore. I had back and neck fat, puffy round face, sumo wrestler type shoulders, scalp hair loss and increased body hair.
I suffer from anxiety and it increased so much I was agitated and nervous almost all the time. I was so depressed and had angry outbursts often(although they tired me out after).
A blood test showed my TSH increased to 5.95 when I had previously got it down to 2.65.

It is by accident I figured out what was happening to me. About 2 weeks ago I was so agitated I took a tranquilizer to calm me down. I looked it up on the internet because I didnt want to get any fatter. Someone posted that a corticosteroid had made them gain a lot of weight. Before the nose spray I was prescribed a corticosteroid skin cream that I used occasionally.
I never realized that creams and nose sprays could be so harmful. I didnt know they were so potent. There should be more warnings about this.
I have gone 10 days without and I feel so much better! My clothes already fit better and my face is smaller.
I am calmer than I have been in months!

Beware of nasal sprays for allergic rhinitis!
