Bianca,

Steroids can cause hair loss, but if the only time you used them was 11 yrs ago, I wouldn't think that the steroids would still be in your system. I think that you should see an endochronologist to check your ACTH and cortisol levels. Both are blood tests and the cortisol should be done at 8am (levels fluctuate during the day, and are their peak in the morning). There is also a urine ACTH that can be done. These tests will check the function of the adrenal glands, which the steroids can impact. Also, you may want to have your thyroid function checked, because symptoms can mimic adrenal disease. These 2 problems could be the cause of your hair loss. I definitely understand how scary it is to lose your hair!! I had to wear a wig for months after starting a chemotherapy drug to help me reduce my steroid dosage. I am currently on a new chemo drug that is making my hair fall out once again...so my wig may have to make a reappearance.

I hope you find some answers before you lose any more hair! Let us know :)

If you have any questions, please feel free to write me on here or privately!!

Ivy
