Ivy:

I am soooo sorry about your hip! I just got back into to town and read your post. I wish that I could take all that pain away from you. I know the steriods do so many things to our body parts, but for once they could just leave you alone! I know what you mean though. I have been on steriods for a year and I have NO muscle mass. My ligaments, bones, and cartlidge are so weak. I still trying to recover from a torn rib muscle and torn cartlidge around the rib. I did about 6 weeks ago trying to put a bottle of Clorox up in the pantry. Seems like just doing normal things causes trauma. Just like you said - all you did was stand up. Oh - these darn drugs?!?! Will it ever get any better? Does your body get stronger once you are off the drugs?

I was scheduled to reduce today, but I am putting it off because of the tremendous stress in my life. My Dad just had open heart surgery on Thursday. It was a real shock to our family. They found the blockages during a routine stress test and then a heart cath. Thank the Lord he did not ever have a heart attack. He had double by pass surgery. He is doing very well, but the weekend was long and stressful. Then my 3 yr. old son had an asthma attack. Of course you know what that means - prednisone. I hate it, but he has to breathe. It's that love/hate thing with prednisone. Then to top it all off, my husband's father was hospitalized last night for aspirating food into his lungs at dinner last night. It's been one long nightmare around here. So...I am thinking that my body is waaaay to stressed to try and reduce?!?!?

I will be praying for your healing. Try and rest and do whatever you need to to manage your pain. I hope surgery is a long way off. Just know that I am thinking of you my friend.

God Bless! Karen
