Oh, that's so frustrating! Here's the thing; I may have steroid induced Cushing's, but I also have a pituitary tumor and adrenal hyperplasia, and very high midnight salivary cortisol, serum cortisol and urinary free cortisol. Prolonged exposure to steroids can induce pituitary Cushing's tumors.

I don't know what to tell you, other than to call that office back and ask them to evaluate you for Cushing's disease because your symptoms have gone on for so long; are you still on steroids? I don't know your history, sorry.

Problem is, NO ONE is taking care of patients with steroid induced Cushing's nor was I able to find any research on it.
The only endo I know who will see anyone with any kind of endocrine problem and keep trying to help no matter what is in LA, but does not have a traditional clinical practice and does not take insurance, but he does write up a good superbill to submit for reimbursement. He's cheap, as specialists go; $360 an hour, but that's a fortune once you travel, pay hotel, etc.
