Lori and Tiffany,

Thank you both for your compassion as I go through yet another round of high dose steroids. I am currently taking 47 mg of prednisone, and will be on this dose until Wed, when I lower back down to 27 mg, then 7 the following Wed. This is a slower wean then I would have liked, but my breathing is not improving fast enough to warrant such a dramatic drop.

I did hear back from my rheumatologist and he said that the MRI showed tendonitis of my ankle and a "pressure sore" (which I don't have). The "pressure sore" that the radiologist saw is actually from the RSD (now it is confirmed). It explains why the worst pain is on the bottom of my foot and the inner ankle. I am stopping the neurontin today, after lowering the dose of that for 1 week. I will start the lyrica on Monday. I am HOPING that it helps with the pain!! What is kind of obnoxious is that the high doses of prednisone actually help the pain in my foot...that sucks because with that information, I know docs will want to give me trigger-point injections of cortisone, which I just WILL NOT allow!! So please keep your fingers crossed that the lyrica will do it's job well!!

Thanks for your prayers and thoughts during this crazy time!!

Ivy

PS...Lori, my asthma and pain issues are NOT caused by Cushing's...I have had these problems long before steroids ever came into the picture. It is just my wacky autonomic system rearing it's ugly head!
