Subject: New Diagnosis

Hi everyone!

I know it has been quite a while since I have been here, but things have been so completely up in the air. I am currently on 12.5 mg of prednisone along with plaquenil to help the prednisone work more effectively. I am also on multiple neurological medications to work on my vegus nerve since I have autonomic dysfunction, which has helped tremendously while lowering my dose of prednisone. The biggest change for me was getting off the birth control pill. That was the BEST thing I have done for myself! By doing that, my main problem was able to fully establish itself...

I was just diagnosed with Systemic Lupus. This explains why, for 10 years, prednisone has worked to control most, if not all of my symptoms. I am grateful for the diagnosis. I have been on the correct treatment for 10 months already, so no significant changes will be made to my plan. I will continue to lower my prednisone slowly, but now we know why, when I am in a flare-up, my body required the doses of steroids in order to survive. The doctors did not understand it before, and thought I just "depended" on it mentally, not physically. Now they GET IT! I am VINDICATED!

Much love and hugs to you all!!
