Jerry,

I am glad to help!! I know exactly what those spasms are like...I get them often, as I am ALWAYS on steroids (prednisone). When I try to lower my dose, I get horrific spasms all over my body too. What helps a bit is to DRINK as much fluid as possible!! Also, I found that eating foods that contain sodium helps me, although others say that avoid salt helps them...so it is very personal. I can say for certaintly that steroids do mess with your electrolytes...specifically sodium/potassium/magnesium/calcium. All of which can cause muscle pain/spasms along with other symptoms. Please contact your doc if you are not feeling better in a couple of weeks to have you levels checked. I do TONS of relaxation exercises when I am lowering my doses of prednisone, as I too get anxious and depressed. I also find that listening to relaxing music can help to calm my racing mind, and coloring in a coloring book helps to squelsh some of the anxiety/depressive thoughts. I also see a therapist who deals with patients that have chronic illnesses, so she knows/understands all about medication side effects, and coloring is a proven method of pain/disease management. :)

I hope you find relief soon!!

Ivy
