Desiree,

Leslie can advise you more then I about steroid creams, but I am on steroids and do know quite a bit about their side effects. First of all, BE KIND TO YOURSELF!!! You JUST stopped the steroid, so it will take some time for your skin to get through the withdrawals. Depression and anxiety can be part of withdrawals, so you are NOT crazy, and are not making too much of this. The doctors should have known that the steroid cream could cause dependency and withdrawals/Cushings. Most of them do not want to admit blame due to the malpractice issues. I do not know about sueing the docs, only a lawyer can advise you if you have a true case.

You may want to try some relaxation exercises, deep breathing, meditations to help get through the anxiety that this is causing you. If you are not feeling better, PLEASE contact a therapist that deals with chronic illness. They will be able to guide you through this time. Also, to check if you have Cushing's, you can have your doc run an AM Corisol level (blood) and ACTH(24 hr urine). You should also have a CBC/Chem panel (CMP) to make sure your electrolytes are not out of whack. The steriods can cause your potassium/magnesium/sodium/calcium to become low causing some muscle pain/weakness. Drink as much fluid as possible to remain hydrated and stave off any muscle aches.

If you go to the home page, you find a FAQ section that answers many questions, and you will be able to see pics of Leslie, as she went through a very similar situation to you.

If you have any more questions or just need to vent, please feel free to email me anytime!!

Ivy
