No, I haven't read the book. I have to say, I'm not taking any doc's word for anything ever again. :-/ I take stuff I've found well researched by searching the National Library of Medicine using PubMed/Medline.
I use alpha lipoic acid to reverse insulin resistance, and pantethine for adrenal support, though it's a bit of a mystery to me how much to use; it actually stimulates the adrenals. For me, stopping pantethine means I can't sleep; resuming it means I can fall asleep and stay asleep at night. My circadian rhythm is operating in reverse without it.
