I broke my arm by tripping/falling in my driveway. I landed on the heel of my hand and broke the radial neck(almost at the elbow) I thoughy I would have broken it at the wrist, but like I said-I'm different. I can't take the flu shot because I am allergic to eggs. I have just had my first cold in a year and am still coughing. Colds are a major trigger for asthma. I've been told I can't get sick or cough. i have done plenty of both this last week. (fingers crossed/knocking on wood) This is the first flare up I have gotten though(so far) without steroids. We're treating it with albuterol, atrovent, and cough meds. Saw the dr Monday and there was no infection or asthma. All my symptoms now are from broncial spasms because I cough so hard. We are working to get the cough stopped. The steroids and coughing caused damage to my trach and vocal cords. Any more steroids would make my trach much worse and the coughing really doesn't help it either. I can feel a difference since the coughing started. This is the first time I have gotten though a flare up without some form of bronchitis/pneumonia. They lower my immune system and always set up an infection. Those infections have cost me half a lung and almost killed me. Unless it is a matter of life and death my drs won't consider steroids again. Just taking them again could be a matter of life and death in itself. I wash my hands alot, don't share pens aviod crowds and pray alot to keep from getting colds. I also take vitamin C and tryto be good to myself by not getting too tired or stressed. I learned those lessons the hard way. becki
