The Internal-Macedonian Revolutionary Organization-Macedonia for the Macedonians (abbreviated VMRO-MNM) (Внатрешно-македонска Револуционерна Организација-Македонија на Македонците, Latinic: Vnatrešno-Makedonska Revolucionerna Organizacija-Makedonija na Makedoncite) is a racist, nationalist, separatist, expansionist and extremist organized crime syndicate active in the Republic of Macedonia and Greek Macedonia. The group believes that a United Macedonia should be established and gained national notoriety in the Republic of Macedonia on May 3, 2001 when they organized ethnic Macedonian riots in Bitola where the Muslim Albanian minority population were targeted. The riots were organized in response to members of the National Liberation Army killing 4 ethnic Macedonian soldiers during the 2001 Macedonia conflict. The organization is known for its anti-Albanian ideology and their support of ethnic cleansing to remove the large Albanian minority from the Republic of Macedonia. The group's leader and president was, and is still believed to be, Ljupčo Mircevski-Trepet. Trepet wrote a public manifesto in 2001 titled "Macedonia for the Macedonians" decrying unfair and abusive treatment of ethnic Macedonians in all present-day regions of historic Macedonia. He is believed to be residing in Sweden although no real intelligence of his whereabouts is apparent.

The Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization-Macedonia for the Macedonians (VMRO-MNM), is a racist/nationalist political party and terrorist group operating in Macedonia. The name Vnatresno-Makedonska Revolucionerna Organizacija (VMRO) was first used in the late 19th century by Macedonian rebels opposed to Ottoman rule. The group remained active after the First World War, seeking to undo the partition of Macedonia ordered by the Treaty of Versailles. After being successfully suppressed by the USSR during the Cold War, Macedonian nationalism has experienced a resurgence in the years since the Iron Curtain fell, as the Balkans has again become a hotspot of ethnic tension.
In Macedonia today, the VMRO name is attached to many different political parties, including the ruling party, the Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity (VMRO-DPMNE), and the leading mainstream opposition party, the VMRO-VMRO. However, the name is also used by the extremist VMRO-MNM, which believes that a greater Macedonia should be established, incorporating ethnic Macedonians from Greece, Bulgaria, and elsewhere. In a manifesto written by group leader, Ljupco Mircevski-Trepet, the VMRO-MNM listed a plethora of grievances ranging from US and UN support for the Kosovo Liberation Army (who they consider terrorists) to the difficulties Macedonians have securing visas for travel elsewhere in Europe.

The most troubling tenet of the group's philosophy is its strongly anti-Albanian stance and its support for ethnic cleansing to remove Albanians from the Republic of Macedonia. In May of 2001, the group was implicated in the planning of riots which targeted an Albanian neighborhood in the city of Bitola. The riots were apparently in response to the killing of four Macedonian soldiers by Albanian rebels in an area near Bitola. Windows were broken, businesses destroyed, and many people injured in the violence.

Current Goals: The VMRO-MNM is still active and promotes its anti-Albanian agenda whenever possible. However, the group has seemed reluctant to use violence since the 2001 riots, and no further incidents are expected.

The Macedonian Revolutionary Organisation ’Todor Aleksandrov’, (MRO)
MRO Todor Alexandrov är en högerextrem grupp i Makedonien som har tagit namnet efter den mest betydelsefulla ledaren i den makedonska revolutionära organisationen under Balkankrigen.
Han mördades 1924. MRO Todor Aleksandrov påstår att Makedonien leds av en ”anti-makedonsk maffiaregering bestående av terrorister, banditer, spioner och agenter”.

The Lions har opererat framförallt i Tetovo-området. I Prilep har gruppen under beteckningen Macedonia 2000 terroriserat albaner och bränt ner hus tillhörande albaner 38. Aktioner har även riktats mot etniskt albansk polis 39. Gruppen har satt upp flygblad på albanska butiker i Skopjes förorter, med hot att bränna ner dem om inte ägarna upphörde med verksamheten. En handfull butiker i Skopje har beskjutits och plundrats.

Gruppen fick av misstag tillgång till vapen vid mobiliseringen av Makedonien. Inofficiellt fanns 14000 vapen i händerna på olika makedonska paramilitära grupper under 2001 40.

Andra antialbanska grupper
I Makedonien har det dykt upp andra paramilitära grupper med antialbansk inriktning, men vars verksamhet varit av ringa omfattning. I början av september 2001 rapporterade makedonska media om en grupp som kallade sig Viper (The Vipers). Gruppen hade skickat en kommuniké till affärsföretag i staden Prilep med begäran om pengar för att finansiera ”skyddet av Makedonien”. En annan grupp som inte ansvarat för några attacker är The National Front of Macedonia 41.
