To be honest, it is quite difficult to purchase a group-class horse from the owners in the Northern Hemisphere. As a matter of fact, there is no group-1 winner sold in the market as most are on the hands of the richest men!

Why the sellers would like to sell out their horses are usually due to either the horses below their expectations, without breeding values or their potentials fully seen already. However, there is another story in the Southern Hemisphere: buyers may buy a group-1 winner provided that they can afford!

Accumulated experience tells that the characteristics of very good and successful PP from the Northern Hemisphere include: merely had a few runs before import, no group (win/place) record or never run in group race, just got 3-year old. The best examples are definitely "祝福" last season and "奧運精神" two seasons ago! Thus, in my opinion, I do not think there are good prospects for most of the above-mentioned PPs in Hong Kong though one or two horses therein are capable of winning in the elite class or local group race.
