Subject: Well, I was going to work on it this past weekend. But I got called into work on Sunday. Computers all around the world went wonky due to the time change, then a server in Europe went down, which caused problems down range (what we call sites supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom). Do you want to tell soldiers and Marines who've stood in line 3 hours just to get into the post exchange that 'Sorry, we can't take your credit card because the system is down'?

Actually, I have an amusing story about work and Iraq. I should explain first that I work for the Army And Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES to those of you who are familiar with the military - I work for the Information Systems help desk) and we have stores in Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi supporting the troops who are fighting in Iraq. At lunch, I was in the break room and several of us were commenting on the celebrations in Iraq now that we appear to pretty much have vanquished Saddam. We were talking about what was going to happen now and one of my co-workers made a comment 'I can see them calling the help desk needing help with their computers' (talking about the military in Iraq). We all started laughing and my boss walked in and said 'Don't laugh. There's already talks about opening a PX at the Baghdad Airport.'
