Subject: I totally agree Tracy. CB/Mac has been cast aside in the past couple of seasons, just not S8 alone. It started when TPTB insisted on pursuing the whole Mic/Mac fiasco, & it turned like Tracy said Mac from a Marine/JAG officer into nothing other than a paper pusher/Mic's other. Mac's storylines for the most part had to revolve around Mic, & it IMHO really wasn't fair to the Mac character. Bud was Harm's partner in S6, Bud in S6 was the Mac of S2-4...(inside for the rest)

Then in S7 we had Sturgis replacing Mac as Harm's best friend, we had Sturgis & Harm doing things outside JAG together, Sturgis was Harm's frequent opponent in court, while Mac was relegated to the flying robot type cases. Towards the last half of S7 it got better with eps like First Casualty, Tribunal, and In Country, but then Mac got relegated again to the "non existant" role in the season finale, while Singer got the bigger and better role!

S8 didn't start out much better, and I agree that CB could've been used better, DB probably new early on (before it was announced to the fans) that CB was pregnant, but instead, he used it as a scapegoat, with the "well, we were going to go here but CB got pregnant" and instead relegated her character very early on to the back burner instead of giving the fans some really good Mac and Harm eps.

But Tracy is right, it just hasn't been this season. It started when DB expanded the cast, and of course Harm's character isn't going to see any diminished airtime, especially when one of the cast expansions is DJE's wife, so it fell on the Mac role.

Mac is the reason I watch JAG. Without her character JAG would hold no interest to me, which is why I didn't watch S1. I think her character is JUST as important to the shows success as Harm's is, and Mac/CB should be given just as much credit as DJE/Harm is. They BOTH are vital, and I just hope that S9 brings a change, where Mac is put back into the limelight, we get some MAC CENTERED eps, and that she isn't relegated to the stupid case realm any longer.
