Tracy, I pretty much agree with your take on NCIS. It didn't DO ANYTHING for me, and like you, I found the characters incredibly annoying, and unlike with JAG, cannot identify with ANY of them.

First, Mark Harm was the only PALATABLE part of NCIS team. But like Tracy said, even he got on my nerves after a while....yeah he can be gruff, but you don't have to be an A** about it.

Second, "Viv" Blackadder...okay, dump the last name. We know DB loves to use his family and his family names in his series, but enough is enough. Agent Blackadder sounds like some sort of deadly disease, and it just is a stupid name IMHO....the actress/character wasn't much better. The character was whiny, but then again we know DB doesn't write female characters well at all. It seemed a bit rushed that know about her brother, and for every MALE at NCIS to be hitting on her, whatever....

Third, Tony (Michael Weatherly) well can you say Teen Beat or 90210 Boy? Let's have a pretty face around, and again, his character and his constant "I'm God's Gift to Woman" didn't do anything for me.

Fourth, "Ducky" Who in the H*** is this? My first impression is nothing but a Quack, a Dirty Old Man pretending to be an Medical Examiner. His "hitting" on Viv was just so totally unbelievable, and at first I thought the character was quirky, but it grew to a major annoyance real fast.

And don't even get me started on the two new characters (the JAG lawyers) that will be introduced next week, we've already been told by Kip that they may show up on JAG, so that's the only reason I hope NCIS is picked up, so these two characters won't be crammed into the JAG cast, hereby taking more airtime away and having to have story arcs including them, cause it looks like JAG was starting to pare down the cast, and I'd hope we'd get back to Mac & Harm being the center of attention.

NCIS isn't a show I will watch if its picked up by CBS, and that's sad cause it will be the first DB show I won't be supporting. I didn't like it, I didn't like the characters (save Mark Harmon) and I'm sorry, I thought this was a lousy episode and what a shame to use JAG to try and push through your new series. JAG is the one that suffered, which gets me to JAG itself.....

Will the real JAG characters stand up and be counted? I watch JAG for JAG, and last night didn't cut it.....

Harm - what a jerk Harm was throughout most of this ep. I kept thinking to myself "that's not Harm." The way he acted when he was interviewed by Gibbs, totally antagonistic, I mean we've seen Harm interviewed and jailed before, he nowhere near acted like he did last night. Harm isn't my favorite character, I don't much like Harm a lot of the time, but even I was like last night "will the real Harmon Rabb please step forward?"

Mac - well not enough Mac for me, but we all *know* why. It would've been nice *if* DB had thrown a scene in there with Mac asking Harm about the incident on the Seahawk, or just to let him know how hurt she was that he went behind her back on her case. NOTHING, NATA, ZIPPO from our duo. And to be fair Tracy, Mac doesn't know that Harm has been arrested for murder, or even that he was the chief suspect. She may not know that he's in trouble, so I don't agree that she doesn't act like she's in love with him. Harm hasn't shown his "love" for Mac when she's been in trouble (Guilt, People vs. Mac etc) so I don't agree with this comment. She can't take NCIS down as you say, cause that just may be construed as something else, and could actually hurt Harm's case. I suspect that will be in next week's ep, but I don't think we will see Mac at all. I don't know how its going to be explained that she doesn't even care about him or wants to help him or would be there with him, I am with you on this, there is going to be NO GOOD explanation that will suffice in explaining Mac's absence and her lack of interest in Harm's case. Make sense?

Bud, where was Bud? I hated that comment from Bud about his not sleeping with that girl, please! Bud is very loyal to his wife, and for him to make such an inane comment, whatever.

AJ, I actually thought AJ was good. He picked up on Gibbs' game, and I think at first he (AJ) was upset at the news of Singer's death, and maybe it shook him for a minute, but he regained his composure and turned the tables on Gibbs nicely.

The case, well there are so many holes in it who knows what to think. Harm calling Sergei from a payphone? I mean the whole thing is very sloppy IMHO, and probably most questions will not be answered next week.

How many times can Harm be put on trial? Seriously, I think his career would be toast, you put two murder charges, plus all the aircraft that he's damaged or destroyed, and its like please. I don't see the need to make Harm a suspect, I think it would've been more interesting to have Sergei the suspect and Harm his lawyer, trying to clear his so called brother's name. I'm not convinced that Sergei is a Rabb, and what a twist that would've been if during Sergei's trial it comes out that he's not Harm's brother.....I don't like the fact that Harm was arrested and is going to be charged...again....

I just wasn't impressed, and do miss JAG. I miss the characters, I miss the JAG stories, and the JAG format. This ep did absolutely nothing for me, except make me happy for like 10 seconds that NC's role has been eliminated, but other than that I felt I wasted 59 minutes and 50 seconds. NCIS doesn't cut it for me, I want JAG.
