hi, I think (but I'm no experts!) that if you don't move often and need to use a computer while traveling, there's no use for a laptop (I am French and in France, laptops are more expensive than desktops!), the salesman wants to get you to buy the most expensive ones, that's logical for a salesman! but for the price of a good laptop, you may have a "wonderful" desktop! Moreover, if you don't travel, you get a larger screen,maybe DVD player and CD Rewritable at the same time! lastly, I don't think name brand matters, it's software, mother board and audio/video cards which do!
