Subject: The Battle of the Sexed Ones

With a shovel in your right hand
and dirt staining your lapel, you knew,
and you knew well, that you'd buried her

In the ground that was unyielding,
in words, witty repartee, stones, and pate;
a good merlot, a triangular point of toast

Nearly made it to her crimson-greased lips,
but faltered, faltered when the first shovelful
fell, fell, clogging her throat and covering her face

Was covered with powders and rouge, a pretty mask to hide an ugly being, this being being a caricature of beauty; hideous, really, for the eyes, though a beautiful color (silvery blue) were icy and lingered, like frostbite, on the skin
