This poem reminds me of a situation from my favorite move "Terrible Things My Mother Told Me." This was an ABC Afterschool Special about child verbal abuse.
Julia, the leading character here, is encouraged by her teacher Mr. Bacharan to try out for biggest role in a student movie called "The Lie."
When she ends up earning the role, Randy Forrester (who is the director of "The Lie") tells her that she needs to write a study about her character Jenny, "whose rep gets dragged through the dirt when classmates spread stories about her mother."
Mr. Bacharan praises Julia on her "good instincts for character." But when he discovers that art has been imitating Julia's life, he concludes that Jenny's situation "seems so real" because Julia's mom was putting her through the same thing.
This poem of your was thought-provoking! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
