Subject: To Paint My Rebecca

Can mere words suffice?
Don't think so, yet I will try.
My eyes have looked upon her,
Thus it will take love to draw her beauty.

Just her gaze would bring a man to his mental knees.
In visual awe of a mortal angel instead of fear;
Eyes of an emerald green surely born in heaven,
Greeted by a smile that lives forever in mind.

Now that is only the beginning of my description of her;
Graceful was re-invented with each movement,
She glided into your presence with exquisite motion.
Not of this earth was what my brain would say.

Ebony hair which glowed in moon light instead of shining,
It flowed before my eyes when there was no wind.
Her touch was soft yet so gently electric,
She knew my thoughts before they passed over my lips.

Still, this physical beauty was only her surface.
The inner being existing within was paradise found;
Anger never once burst from her core,
Understanding always took its place instead.

If I were to have invented the word sweetness,
Then it would have been created when I met her.
Truly an angel which lit down on that day we met,
I stood alone in a meadow and suddenly she was there.

Asked her if she walked on air,
Because I had not heard her approach.
She told me that she'd always been there,
Had always been everywhere I'd ever been.

At the time I thought, what a good sense of humor,
I liked any human being possessing that quality.
Now that she is gone from my present world,
This man has sat and wondered at the possibilities.

Was she sent to me to show me Heaven?
For I tell you now I was married to eternal love,
Her entire beauty could not be measured by Einstein,
Or all brilliant mortal minds that have ever existed.

(this painting I've started may never be completed)
