Very cleverly written, especially with the play on words. The rhythm works well with this poem conveying the tone.

It reminds me of some of Siegfried Sassoon's short poems about WWI, particularly 'Suicide in the Trenches' and 'The General'. He used a similar rhythm and rhyme which helped to portray the sarcastic and bitter tone about those in charge sacrificing the lives of so many. Rambling on but what I mean is that your poem also has this timeless quality and says a lot - and not just 'for me' but for 9/10ths of the population. Strange they do not listen.
