Subject: Irish Joys!

On the 17th of March,
I have come to The Irish Heavens to forget the tears of my past years!
This is where the people are showing pride in green!
Today, they are rejoicing the Irish way of life!
They have come here to the States!
We will listen to their music!
We should not neglect to heed the ones connected to us!
Many of them moved away from their homeland!
They were turning into crowds when they came to the New World!
When you travel to their land, places and people will help!
You will enjoy what you find!

DEDICATION: This poem makes me smile! It is made up of one of the many entries to www.poetry.com's "Poetry in Motion Contest" from the summer of 2001! I am also proud of where the other research comes from!

With help from Microsoft Encarta 2002, I went to www.pbs.org! In the past, I had dreamed of using research from there for my writings. But it was not until I started working on this poem that this dream finally became a reality for me!

I had never known what genealogy was until I read an article about it in "Kiwanis Magazine!" Unfortunately, this Kiwanis Club broke up in 1997. But that did not keep my understanding of geneaology from coming in handy!
