I loved this poem the first moment I read it. I could clearly picture the scene and imagine the effect - also being a lover of rioja and all things red ;)

I like the brief two lines of the stanza

'The wine flowed on
Until he remembered no more.'

Adds emphasis and makes the reader wonder what trying to be forgotten.
