I had no reason to walk more or climb on.
Burning limbs from a day's marching said sit
By the fire, and wait for the darkness.

But in the fire, I saw energy and needed to move.
Up the last steep to the cliff over the sea.
Reaching the top, I felt blessed and refreshed.

No humans with me but I felt anything but alone.
For before me lay the wealth of the earth,
As the sun stretched one golden beam on to the hilltop.

It moved from the depths of the horizon forward.
Mother natures way of saying, you and only you
Will ever see this scene like it is now and forever

In my memory. A warm beam only two metres wide.
On me on a rock and no-one else, from across the ocean,
As the last breath of day. That is luck, luck is hope
