Subject: Suggestions...

I am in the middle of writing a poem that I think could possibly turn out to be somewhat lengthy. I've only put down three stanzas so far, but was wondering upon your suggestions, where I should go with it.

Nothing lasts forever --
inventions humane
and divine must surely fail,
and each day is another
life being born
that will also pass, with
angst and wail,
as the very hour it came.
Knowing this, it seems we
should not mourn.

But passions are never logical
and we
are a passionate people,
so that, when death drives
its daggers through our souls,
we feel affliction with no equal,
a heartache that never flees,
a flame with no small amount
of coal.

For nothing lasts forever --
not Saturn's rings,
nor Jupiter's fiery storm.
They too will have their end,
though long they may live.
Even love in time will lose
its warmth,
waxing colder as these things
slip through our hands as sand
from a sieve.

That's it, though I know there must be more.
