Subject: Eating Mangoes

This poem was inspired by my visit to Northern India, where we delighted in our luxury treat of mangoes. We often received advice from our Indian and Tibetan friends on how we should eat them. However, lust for the mango sometimes got the better of our etiquette .... *grin*

Eating Mangoes

There is an art to eating mangoes
So the English girl was told
Everybody has an opinion
And another story to unfold.

Always willing to give advice
The Tibetan has a history
A need to share such luxury
And unravel the deep mystery.

Simply cut a cross in the top
Like an egg begin to unpeel
Clean and tidy seems the way
Her head begins to reel.

The Indian man interrupts
Simply begs to disagree
Use a sharp knife slice around
Then grow the stone for free.

The English girl listens well
To such well-intended advice
Squinting under midday sun
She begins her vice.

Looking at the mango gold
Rounded curves in her hands
She smells the mango’s aroma
Her unbridled ecstasy expands.

Decorum and etiquette cast aside
Slowly allows her tongue to explore
She takes the mango to her lips
Smiling sensuously she wants more.

Oblivious to the scandalised looks
The well-meant advice of friends
The English girl wants her pleasure
Time later to make amends.

Golden juices spurt out as
Her sharp teeth pierce the skin
With a sharp intake of breath
She starts to spin from within.

The English girl loses herself
Sweet mango juices escape her
Trickle down her throat
Converge between her breasts.

Eyes closed her lashes flutter
Overcome by a wave of pleasure
Guilty of eating too many mangoes
As a slight moan escapes her.
