I have a new, never ridden swingbike. Found a couple of these in a local warehouse. They put them together and then threw out the boxes :( Never ridden, tires never been inflated - still has the little rubber things hanging on the tire. The only blemish I could find was on the seat - there is a black mark that looks like the front tire tread. I am thinking the tire was pressed against the seat during that long time in storage.

I sold one a bit ago on ebay and am thinking about selling the other one. Make me an offer if you want. The last one sold for $550 so your offer would have to be above that.

I can email photos -- just send me your email address.

Thanks!

I have 3 sets of repro swingbike frame stickers for sale. They look nice and have a UV coating on them so they last longer than the originals. Email me if interested, $40 per set and there are 3 different colors to choose from. You'll need to cut them out since they are not diecut. Took me forever to find these, nice for a restoration.

I managed to find an original orange Swing Bike here in Phoenix. Thanks to Bret for selling it to me. Got to ride it around last night and I must say it is my favorite bike right now out of the 7 I have. I am also building a custom 72 Manta Ray Swing Bike which should be rideable this weekend for testing. Then it's off to paint. Here is a link on the Manta Ray Swing Bike build.

I do need some frame stickers for the Swing Bike, and I may put some on the Manta too if anybody has any reproductions.

Howdy!!! Just writing this message from Australia, wondering if anyone can me out here, if so it will be very appreciated! I am assuming swing bikes are incredibly rare to find in Australia, a friend of mine found one in a country town and has spent a few years restoring it but is in need of a few parts. Is there any place or site on the internet to buy a chain guard, front and rear mud guards, two springs and the front badge from? Or anyone who has spares to sell?
Also looking desperately to buy a swing bike at any cost, and i really mean any cost especially if new in a box, will pay a fair bit for shipping and everything, if I don't have one soon I will sell my soul to the devil. If can help out I will be very grateful!!!

I've had many people wanting to buy my bike and would like to know how much they sell for now. I seen one on e-bay that was not exactly original, being bid on at 177.00 with 3 days left. I would like to know what it did finally go for. And How much is it worth?

Thinning collection…..

I have the following bikes up for sale, I live about five miles from Billing, so collection could be arranged. If you need details/pictures, please mail me: luddite.morgan@zen.co.uk

2004 Schwinn Stingray launch model. 2500 of these were made for the launch of the OCC Stingray, and were better spec than the standard bikes, having a chrome frame with red guards – the front guard was only on this edition – and folding cruiser pegs on the front forks. It’s US-spec, which means no front brake and low V-bars. It has its swing-ticket and wheel disc, and has never been sat upon but did suffer some very minor cosmetic damage during import, hence the price of £190.
1970s Raleigh Candy 20inch girls bike. I bought this as a donor for my Rodeo, but it’s too good to break, and my kids say it rides very nicely. The chrome’s a bit rough but I only want a tenner for it.
Swingbike, early Fu-Lu model. It’s a bit cosmetically-challenged, but fully working, ride or restore (I have been riding it!) excellent fun and not as difficult as it looks; £150
1970s Schwinn World Tour tenspeed. Lugged frame in an enormous size. Has a couple of broken spokes, but when those are replaced it’s a ride or restore for £20
1976 Schwinn Stingray. Met red paint very nice but the rest slightly ragged; £200.
1977 Schwinn Stingray Fairlady. Would clean up nicely I think – another ride or restore; £90.
1967 Schwinn Corvette – 24 inch wheels. Nice. £150.
1959 Schwinn middleweight basket case. No handlebars. Rescuable with effort, frame’s straight and sound (but show me one that isn’t!) would make a quality rod or cruiser. £50.
1980 Schwinn Stingray Pixie. Straight tube model. Wicked little bike but has been used by a succession of five-year olds. Rare, £100.
1970s Dutch ladies loop frame bike. Three-speed Torpedo coaster. I’ve had this for twenty years! Could do with a tidy now; £15.
1920s Loop frame roadster. Well rough and painted pink. Worth rescuing ; £10.
1960 Sears Hawthorne middleweight. Small tank and twin-top-tube frame. Has faded in the California sun to a nice burnt orange, excellent patina, would look cool in the back of a rod or pickup. Oversized bars but could be cut down. I ride this one! £125.
Finally, the gem of my collection; 1941 Monark Firestone Cruiser Deluxe. Unrestored. 24 inch wheels. Met. Purple with white/orange coachlines. Large-tanked ballooner in totally original condition. Restored these fetch up to $2000. £250 and it’s yours.

Subject: I GOT ONE!!

Author:
Ludd!te
[Edit]

Date Posted: Thursday, July 22, 01:27:24pm

I just got myself an early (FU-LU?) Swingbike. Unfortunately it's been kept outside so needs a bit of work to make it look smart.

I have got some questions that I am hoping someone can answer!

The bars are matt black. I've scraped some off and they don't appear to be chromed underneath, and the black is a coating rather than a paint. Is this a standard feature or has this been done by someone?

The guards are black too, but I know they're a replacement (they were Swingbike parts allegedly!). The rear one doesn't follow the curve of the tyre completely. Is this normal or are mine just poor quality?

What reflectors were fitted and where to? If someone could post pics I'd be grateful.

The guy I bought from took the springs off and although he could find the springs, the end plates and hooks had disappeared. Can someone please post a good picture and some dimensions (metal thicknesses/diameters, hole spacing etc.) so I can make up some more?

Mine has a high sissy which I have not seen on a swingbike - was this a standard fit?

Finally, where can I get a yellow sparkle silver piped banana seat from without breaking the bank!!

Thanks in advance for your help - I'm chuffed to be one of you swingers at last!

Lud
(I'll post pics when I've worked out how!!)
