I say fuck Bob, sure he got us going and everything, and he's an okay drummer, but that dosen't do any good at all unless he shows up occasionaly for band practice. Lately all he's been doing is bringing us down and bitching, yes I've been bitching too, but I contribute songs and creative input to the band and I show up for practice. If his replacement is "half as skilled as he is" I would be just happy as long as they have dedication.
