The question is, what should be done? You didn't suggest U.S. military intervention (which is good), but I doubt that would do much (look at Afghanistan and what little good we did there -- there is still a lack of basic human rights for women in many parts of the nation). Cutting off funding sounds like a definate action plan, although (as always) most people up here don't give a rat's ass since what's going on isn't happening in their backyards.
