Secure in the knowledge that nothing bad would happen to her or to her child, Tabitha allowed herself to relax and fall into the oblivion that her daughter remained in. It wasn't for several hours until Tabitha managed to rouse herself. And that was mainly because of the painful jabs in her abdominal region. Fearing that her growling stomach would wake the world, Tabitha pushed herself up from the bed, still half asleep. A few minutes later, and she was sitting down to what was left of the steak Bradly had prepared earlier.
Mercedes slowly regained conscienceness just as Tabitha was setting into the steak. Blinking away her exhaustion, she gazed around in confusion, wondering just where her tormentors had taken her this time. She flexed a few muscles, not feeling any restraints, she pushed herself slowly, cautiously into an upright position. A gasp tore through her throat at the throbbing pain in her upper thigh, where she'd been cut open and stitched. Bright emerald orbs scanned the apartment, recognizing after a few seconds, where exactly she was. And then it all came flooding back. The confining burlap sack, the strength of a warewolf, and then a man carrying her home. The fight through the oblivion of sleep to the active world. Frantically, she searched what she could see of the apartment to find her mother. MOTHER!!!!
At the call, Tabitha damn near knocked over the kitchen table in her haste to get to her daughter's side. It took about 5 seconds for her to clear her way to Mercedes' side and draw the child into her arms.
