In this instance, loopholes were not his intent, but 500 years of weaving such delicate webs of trust and relationships had gifted or cursed him with an unconscious care to avoid promises. Committment was not a habit of his and they both know it, but bent to take her kisses now he thought nothing of deception, nothing of future betrayals. Beyond the treasure that lay on the bed beneath him, he could want for nothing else, not with her sweet caresses and ever-loving patience.

Giving to her tongue, he deepened the kiss with a thrill that ran through his very core, sensing something special in this tryst though he could not identify the sensation. But there was little focus left for questions, caught in her lips and the fingers that ran teasingly over his thigh. Breath stopping for a moment, his hands slid along her shoulders, slipping the golden waves away.
