How many parallels could you spot – having trouble?
Perhaps this will help.
Can you suggest what actual fact/event/development the following represent in the story?

1. The two Yr11 boys.
2. They had nothing in common,
3. They wanted different jobs
4. They had had fights in the past.
5. Until recently, they had managed to work together when necessary
6. The string of clashes.
7. The Student Council
8. The meeting where they clearly irritated each other
9. The meeting they openly disagreed.
10. Boris’s method of getting a gang of yes-men around him.
11. Sam’s method of stopping people being friends with Boris.
12. When one of Sam’s friends bad-mouthed Boris, it was the last straw.
13. They didn’t have a fight because neither could afford to be permanently excluded.
14. So they did everything possible to hurt each other without actually having a one-on-one fight.
15. When Boris trapped Sam’s little brother in a classroom, Sam passed sandwiches through the window until Boris got bored.
16. When two Year 7 boys started a feud, Sam helped one, and Boris’s friend Lee helped the other.
17. Sam and Boris endlessly slagged off each other.
18. They competed to gain the highest mark in the Technology exam
19. They competed to score the first goal in the football.
20. Boris beat up a couple of his gang who looked as through they might be wanting to make friends with Sam.
21. In the end, Boris forced his friends to not even talk to Sam and his friends.
22. A group of girls even got a petition about the danger.
23. The nasty moment when Boris found out that Sam had been spying on him.
24. The terrifying crisis when Boris was bringing in a knife for his psycho friend Fidel to attack Sam with.
25. (Boris failed his exams and left the school.)
